GUWAHATI- Considered to be the gateway to North East India, Guwahati is the largest city in the region. It is situated between the southern bank of Brahmaputra River and the foothills of the Shillong plateau. Dispur, a part of Guwahati, serves as the capital of Assam. The hill ringed, green wooded, river bordered urban centre was also known as Light of East in the ancient times. Popularly also known as City of Temples as the temples are perched on hills or on hillsides which offer panoramic view of the vast Brahmaputra as well as the bustling city.
DIRANG- Dirang is a small town in the West Kameng district of east Himalaya. It is located about 43 km from Bomdila on the way to Tawang. The town is mostly used by tourists for overnight halt on the way to Tawang.
TAWANG- Located at a height of about 3048m, is known for many important and beautiful monasteries and is famous as the birth place of Dalai Lama. The beautiful town of Tawang, also pronounced as Dawang has many sceneries to make your trip a picturesque one. However, what begins to define the area is its significance for Buddhist monks. Tawang is the place to go for monasteries,
BOMDILA- The small town of Bomdila is perched amongst the panoramic settings of the lofty ranges of the eastern Himalayas. The town boasts of a number of Buddhist monasteries which are storehouse to the very culture, spirit and essence of the land. Bomdila is known for its scenic environs along with its Buddhist monasteries and apple orchids.

DAY 1: GUWAHATI
Welcome at Guwahati Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Later in the afternoon visit the temple.
KAMAKHYA TEMPLE- The Kamakhya temple is one of the most revered shrines of Shakti in India, in the form of Kamakhya. Located on the Nilachal Hills just 7km from Guwahati, the Kamakhaya temple is of great religious importance. It also holds tremendous historic and archeological significance. The shrine is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country and is a part of the four most important Shakti Peethas. Kamakhya temple is the Goddess of Desire, and celebratory for the Tantrik sect of Hinduism. Followers of the Tantra Sect place their belief in Kamakshi or Kamakhya and hence this shrine holds tremendous religious, historic and archaeological significance.
Evening at leisure or you can go for a leisure walk around the place.

DAY 2: GUWAHATI
After breakfast visit City of Temples- Guwahati
UMANANDA TEMPLE- The temple is located in the small Peacock Island amidst the mighty Brahmaputra. This quiet place of worship is named after and dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Peacock Island is the smallest inhabited riverine in the world and possibly one of the most beautiful too. The Umananda temple is nestled in the laps of this serene island whose shores are washed by the mighty Brahmaputras.
BHUVANESHWARI TEMPLE- Dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, this white shrine perched atop a hill adjacent to the city is a major draw amongst the religious pilgrims. The temple itself provides visitors with a magnificent panoramic view of the city of Guwahati.
NAVAGRAHA TEMPLE- There is a temple on Chitrachal Hill dedicated to the nine planets, since there is a great significance attached to the nine planets in the country. The planets are believed to rule the destiny of people, hence they are regarded as gods and worshipped.
SRIMANTA SHANKARDEVA KALASHETRA- It is the largest repository of Northeast India's culture. Built in the 1990s, the artistic excellence of Assam and rest of the north-eastern region is displayed here. It includes a cultural museum, library and various facilities for preserving, demonstrating and performing cultural items, besides a children's park.
ASSAM ZOO- The proud possessors of some rare and endangered species, the Assam Zoo spread over 130 acres of land is a major tourist attraction. The whiter tigers, one horned rhinos, Swamp tapirs and leopards to name a few, are usually the tourists' favorites.
EVENING CRUISE ON BRAHMAPUTRA RIVER- The Brahmaputra, also called Tsangpo-Brahmaputra, is a trans-boundary river and one of the major rivers of Asia. From its origin in southwestern Tibet as the Yarlung Zangbo River, it flows across southern Tibet to break through the Himalayas in great gorges and into Arunachal Pradesh where it is known as Dihang.

DAY 3: GUWAHATI - DIRANG
After breakfast drive through the golden fields of Assam before climbing into Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute visit the beautiful Gyuto monastery and spend some time exploring it. Continue your drive to a little town of Dirang. The prime attraction is the Tibetan Buddhist villages in this area. The beautiful architectures of the villages and their cultures are worth witnessing.

DAY 4: DIRANG - TAWANG
Today morning drive to the beautiful town of Tawang. Enroute visit Nyukmadung War Memorial and Sela Pass to view the gorgeous views of the surroundings.
SELA PASS- The pass is a lifeline for the people of Arunachal Pradesh, and the Sela Lake is as heavenly as it gets. It is the only way that connects Tawang district of the state to the rest of the country. Sela Pass is breathtaking place always covered in snow providing some beautiful views of the eastern Himalayan range. The rocky pass is also home to one of Arunachal's most beautiful lakes - the Sela Lake.
Further continue to Tawang. Transfer to hotel. Evening free for leisure.

DAY 5: TAWANG

TAWANG MONASTERY- Located amidst the picturesque surroundings, the Tawang Monastery also known as the Golden Namgyal Lhatse is truly a gem of Arunachal Pradesh. It has been recognized as the second largest monastery in the world, the first one being Lhasa. The monastery houses a massive statue of Lord Buddha which is 8 meters in height.
WAR MEMORIAL- A 40 feet colorful structure, the War Memorial is dedicated to all the martyrs of the Sino-India War of 1962. Lying in the bosom of the beautiful peaks of Himalayas, this memorial overlooks the scenic Tawang-Chu valley.
URGUELLING MONASTERY- It is a beautiful monastery located at a distance of 5km from Tawang town in Arunachal Pradesh. This place is the birth place of Tsangyang Gyatso, the Sixth Dalai Lama. The monastery is of great historic importance.
ANI GOMPA- Gyangong Ani Gompa, perched on the top of a beautiful hillock is nunnery. Being home to about 50 Buddhist nuns, it was found by Mera Lam Lodre Gyamtso.

DAY 6: TAWANG - PENGA TENG TSO - MADHURI LAKE - BUMLA - TAWANG
After breakfast explore the beautiful lakes and valleys at the higher reaches of the region.
PENGA TENG TSO- Located almost 25km from Tawang town, this immensely picturesque locale is a perfect tourist site. Excellent for picnic, depending on the weather. The serene atmosphere and mesmerizing surroundings leave tourists spellbound.
MADHURI LAKE- A beautiful lake Sangetsar Lake or the Madhuri Lake is the remotest lakes of the country. The lake is a breathtaking combination of Rocky Mountains and an ever-present lake whose beauty is beyond spellbinding. The lake was made popular due to its appearance in the Bollywood movie Koyla and is also known as Madhuri Lake named after the lead actress in the movie.
BUMLA- At an elevation of 5,000 m above the sea level, the Bum La Pass marks the Indo-China border. Also, it was through this pass, Dalai Lama entered India.
In the evening return back to Tawang.

DAY 7: TAWANG - BOMDILA
Today morning drive to the majestic Himalayas bestowing their shadow, the beautiful town of Bomdila. Transfer to hotel.

DAY 8: BOMDILA - GUWAHATI
After breakfast visit the beautiful town
BOMDILA MONASTERY- this abode to Buddhist monks and Llamas is the biggest attraction in Bomdila. The monastery is also believed to be an exact replica of Tsona Gontse Monastery, Tibet. This monastery in Bomdila is constructed by who was believed to be the 12th reincarnate of Tsona Rinpoche.
BOMDILA VIEW POINT- Clouds kissing the ground, the massive Himalayas towering all around, the panoramic view of the Kemeng Valley - not a single one of the will let you down. The view from up here is sure to take up a permanent space in your memory and its beauty will be unforgettable.
In the afternoon drive back to Guwahati Airport to catch flight towards onwards destination.
