OVERVIEW- Jamshedpur is located in the southern end of Jharkhand in Singhbhum district. It is a hilly region and it surrounded with the Dalma Hills running from west to east and covered with dense forests. Jamshedpur was a small village, known as Sakchi. A great industrialist, Jamshed Ji Tata, developed this small village into a planned industrial city. And it renamed as Jamshedpur City in 1919 to the respect of the founder of the city, Jamshed Ji Tata. Now, several branches of Tata Group like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, HVAL, HVTL, Telcon, Tata Power, Jusco, Tata Cumins, Tata Robins Frazer, Tata bearing, Tayo, Tata Tubes Division, Tinplate, Tata Agrico, Tata Pigments are planted here. Due to this intense effectiveness of Tata Group here, the city is often called as Steel City, Tatanagar or simply Tata.
RANCHI- Ranchi, known as the land of Waterfalls and lakes, is located at a height of 2100 ft above sea level in the heart of the Chotta Nagpur tribal country. It was originally a tribal country with vast parts of forest lands. Ranchi is a large and beautiful hill resort and the countryside around it boasts of beautiful waterfalls. Today, Ranchi has grown as a famous industrial town and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Company is also located here.
JAMSHEDPUR- The largest city in Jharkhand, Jamshedpur is an appealing destination with its aesthetically planned infrastructure and landscape. Jamshedpur is the quintessential example of the boon of industrialization in a developing nation. It is the largest city in Jharkhand and is majorly maintained by the Tata Industries. DIMMA LAKE- Dimna Lake is an artificial reservoir located on a height above of 3001 ft from mean sea level in Dalma Hill about 12 km away from Jamshedpur. The Lake provides you several opportunities of water sports like jet skiing, rowing and water scooting.
DALMA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY- The sanctuary has several wild animals like barking deer, leopards, sloth bears, elephants, porcupines and tigers. A temple of Lord Shiva also situated on this hill.
HUDCO LAKE- Hudco Lake is one of the best tourist attractions in Jamshedpur. The Sumant Mulgaonkar Park is situated adjacent to this lake and it added an extra attraction for travelers.
RIVERS MEET- The confluence of the rivers Subarnekha and Domohani serves as a perfect picnic spot in the city of Jamshedpur. The place is surrounded by tall eucalyptus trees and verdant greenery which gives it an imposing serenity and calmness. Sunsets at this place create an extremely relaxing ambience and hence should not be missed.
