OVERVIEW- A scenic town on the Chhota Nagpur Plateau, Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand. It used to be the summer capital before the state was carved out of Bihar. Ranchi derived its name from Archi, meaning bamboo forest. The town is entirely covered with red soil and is located at a height of 2,140 ft above sea level. Known for its waterfalls, green hilly regions, barren rocks and beautiful valleys; Ranchi is also enormously rich in natural wealth like iron, coal, copper, mica etc. making it a major industrial center. Ranchi is surrounded by forests rich in a variety of trees and wild animals.
RANCHI- Ranchi, known as the land of Waterfalls and lakes, is located at a height of 2100 ft above sea level in the heart of the Chotta Nagpur tribal country. It was originally a tribal country with vast parts of forest lands. Ranchi is a large and beautiful hill resort and the countryside around it boasts of beautiful waterfalls. Today, Ranchi has grown as a famous industrial town and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. Company is also located here.

DAY 1: RANCHI
Welcome at Ranchi Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or you can go for a leisure walk around the place.

DAY 2: RANCHI
After breakfast visit the City of Waterfalls- Ranchi
JOHNA FALLS- Jonha Falls, also known as Gautamdhara is situated around 40 kms from Ranchi. These falls can be admired by descending around 500 steps. There is a tourist rest house which contains the Lord Buddha temple.
DASSAM FALLS- Dassam Falls is situated about 34 kms from Ranchi on Ranchi-Tata Road near Taimara village. Here, the Kachni River falls from an altitude of 144 feet. It is also known as Dassam Gagh.
SUN TEMPLE- This temple was built by Sanskriti Vihar headed by Sitaram Maroo. It is built in the form of a chariot with 18 wheels drawn by 7 white horses. It is surrounded by a pond which is used by devotees during Chhath Puja for worshipping of Sun.
JAGANNATHPUR- The Jagannath Temple in the village of Jagannathpur is a miniature replica of the Jagannath temple at Puri in Orissa. This temple was built in 1691. Rath Yatra, the car festival is celebrated here with great enthusiasm, but not like Puri.
NETRAHAT- Netrahat is located about 160 km. west of Ranchi and the visitors who have plenty of time can visit this place. The place itself and the road leading to Netrahat are surrounded by dense forests.
RANCHI HILL- Ranchi Hill is situated at the centre of the town. It is a bare black land outcropping in the midst of a flat land. The Shiva Temple, also known as Pahari Mandir is located on the top of the hill. An artificial Ranchi lake is situated at the foothills of the hill and flanked by two temples and a pillared bathing ghat.
GONDA HILL AND ROCK GARDEN- The rock garden is carved out of the rocks of Gonda Hill. At the base of the Hill is Kanke dam. The Rock Garden is a picturesque picnic spot.
TAGORE HILL- The Morhabadi Hill, also known as the Tagore Hill is an important tourist spot. The elder brother of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore has built a house (Shantidham) on the hill. At the bottom of the hill is Ramakrishna Mission Ashram.

Day free for leisure and later depart at airport/station to catch your flight/train towards onward destination.
