OVERVIEW- A combination of natural and ethnic beauty, and still ruled by the warriors of the Naga tribe, Kohima, the capital city of Nagaland is a town with a calm and relaxing environment. Kohima was built by the British and is home to the Naga and Kulkis tribe who can amaze one with their independence and a mystical and colorful culture that surrounds them. Kohima finds its place in history as the site of an intense fight with the Japanese, a part of a 64 day long battle during the World War II. The original inhabitants of the place are the Angami Nagas and Rengma Nagas. But in recent times, people from other regions and states have also settled here. The region consists of 16 principal tribes who form the Naga Tribes.
DIMAPUR- Dimapur is located at a distance of 75 kms towards northwest of Kohima and is means 'the city of the river people'. It is the biggest and the most industrialized town of Nagaland. Dimapur serves as the main entry point into Nagaland. This is also the commercial center of the state. While nature lovers are enthralled by the scenic landscape of the place, history lovers are attracted to the 10th century Kachari ruins found here.

DAY 2: KOHIMA

KOHIMA MUSEUM- Nagaland is truly an amalgamation of various tribes! The Kohima Museum portrays the traditions and culture of the many tribes of the state. The museum holds many unique artifacts related to different tribes of the region.
KOHIMA CATHEDRAL- The city of Kohima has had a really violent past and now, the city is making up for it. This cathedral too stands out in the city, providing a beacon of hope and peace.
KOHIMA WAR CEMETERY- This is, perhaps, one place in Kohima you wouldn't want to miss at all. This beautiful site is dedicated to the 10,000 Allied soldiers who lost their lives during the Japanese invasion during the World War-II.
