A weekend getaway from Mumbai to Nashik offers you a chance to enjoy a refreshing experience, away from the regular hustle - bustle of city life. Located at an attitude of 565 meters above the sea level, Nashik is also the venue for the very well-known Kumbh Mela. Nasik is a popular religious site of the Hindu devotees and is known for its connection with the great Hindu epic, Ramayana. 

MUMBAI- Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra and is the financial powerhouse of the country. Also well known commercial capital of India, fast paced cosmopolitan city. This historic city, extends along the sea, has grand buildings and is the center of India's Hindi film industry. The city is famous as the center of glamour and glitz due to the presence of Indian film industry. Mumbai is also a historical city having many attractions to offer to a visitor.

NASIK- The wine capital of India, Nasik is a picturesque town located on the banks of Godavari river. It is dotted with orchards and wineries, a must-see by nature lovers and wine aficionados. It is believed that Lord Ram spent many of his exile years here. Nashik is one of the world's holiest cities in India. Lined with many temples and vivid bathing ghats, the city is one of four sites of the largest religious gatherings in the world, the Kumbh Mela that takes place after every three years with each city hosting it once every 12 years.

DAY 1: MUMBAI - NASIK

Drive to the worlds holiest city Nasik. Transfer to hotel. Later visit 

PANDAV LENI CAVES- A group of Hinayana Buddhist rock cut caves, Pandav LenI caved dating back to the 1st century. Placed on Trivashmi hills, these caves has had brilliantly carved sculptures and doorways. It is known for being used as the residence of the monks. A total of 24 caves, these caves have idols of Bodhisattava, Jain Teerthankara, Veer Manivhadraji etc.

KAPILESWARA TEMPLE- Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kapileswara temple is one of the oldest temples in Nashik. An architectural beauty, this temple has the river Godavari in its backdrop. Like the other Lord Shiva temple, this temple does not have an idol of Nandi bull.

MUKTIDHAM TEMPLE- Situated on the suburbs of Nasik, Mukti dham Temple is a beautiful marble temple complex, built by Late Shri Jayram Bhai Bytco. An abode of all most all the gods and goddesses of the Hindu pantheon, this splendid shrine displays the facsimile of all the 12 Jyotirlingas of India.

WINERIES - Nasik is famous for its grapes. Not surprisingly, it is home to a large number of wineries. You can undertake wine tasting trips in any of them or spend a good day relaxing in their peaceful and lush environs.

DAY 2: NASIK

After breakfast, full day excursion tour of Nasik

SOMESHWAR WATERFALLS/DUDHDAGAR FALLS- The panoramic site of Dudhsagar Waterfalls in Someshwar is known as one of the best spots all around the world. Bestowed with picture-postcard scenery, these waterfalls are equally popular amidst locals as well as tourists as a picnic spot. During the monsoon season, these fully roaring waterfalls are flocked by people. The water of this 10-meter stretch of waterfalls looks milky white.

ANJANERI HANUMAN TEMPLE- An important pilgrim center, as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, Ajneri is located on the Nasik-Trimbakeshwar road. Numerous Jain temples scattered on the landscape evidences that this lovely place was a Jain settlement earlier. A mountainous terrain amidst the lustrous greenery, its rocky surroundings offer a perfect spot for rock climbing.

TRIMBAKESWAR TEMPLE- Trimbakeshwar is the main Jyotirlinga out of 12 Jyotirlinga devoted to Lord Shiva. According to the legend, Gautama Rishi executed a precise ritual of prayer and tapasya or penance to Shiva on Brahmagiri Hill, which rises above the current temple. It is believed that after being pleased with his dedication, Lord Shiva have blessed him and brought down the sacred rivers of Ganga, Godavari and Gautami to earth from the heaven. Before entering this holy temple, devotees bathe and purify themselves from all sins at the Kushavarta Teertha.

DAY 3: NASIK - MUMBAI

Day free for leisure and later, drive back to Mumbai to catch your flights/train towards onward destination.
